On March 7, 2025, PGM College of Arts & Science, Kangazha commemorated Women’s Day 2025 through a vibrant and meaningful celebration titled “Fierce Femme.” The event focused on empowering women, promoting awareness, and honoring inspiring journeys.

A key part of the program was an awareness session on “Fighting Cancer in Women,” which shed light on early detection, self-care, and the importance of regular screenings. The session offered students practical knowledge and encouragement to prioritize their health.

Another highlight was “Letter to Inspiring Women”, a thoughtful writing competition where students expressed gratitude and admiration to the women who’ve shaped their lives. Selected entries were shared aloud, making for a heartfelt and memorable segment.

The event was made even more special by the presence of Dr. Aparna Purushothaman, a celebrated wildlife photographer. Her keynote speech shared stories from the wild and her own experiences as a woman breaking barriers in a challenging field.

Fierce Femme served as a powerful platform for reflection, expression, and unity—celebrating not only women’s achievements but also their potential for change.
